While I was busy adding the Facebook and StumbleUpon buttons to the Plak more info page, I did a bit of testing to ensure that the buttons were working as they should. I selected a random Plak and added its more info page to both Facebook and StumbleUpon, and I’ve been monitoring hits on the page using Google analytics over the last two days.

Facebook generated only 6 hits, while over the same period of time, 68 hits came from StumbleUpon. Okay, 68 hits isn’t much over a two day period, but I think the difference between the two is quite significant. Sharing something on Facebook only exposes that share to your friends and/or fans, while sharing the same thing on StumbleUpon exposes it to over 8 million StumbleUpon members.

From what I’ve seen, if you’re looking for exposure, it would be well worth your while to join StumbleUpon and then use the StumbleUpon button on your Plak’s more info page.
